Managing Your Subscription
How do I cancel my subscription?
- Go to the Polar Customer Portal
- Sign in with the email you used to subscribe
- Click on your active subscription
- Select “Cancel subscription”
Your API access will continue until the end of your current billing period.
How do I upgrade or downgrade my tier?
- Visit the Polar Customer Portal
- Click “Change plan” on your subscription
- Select your new tier (Dev, Pro, or Max)
- Confirm the change
Changes take effect immediately. If upgrading, you’ll be charged the prorated difference. If downgrading, credits will apply to future billing.
How do I view my invoices?
- Go to the Polar Customer Portal
- Click “Billing history”
- Download any invoice as PDF
All invoices are also emailed to you after each payment.
API Key & Access
Where do I find my API key?
Your API key is sent to your email when you subscribe. Look for an email from noreply@scalellm.dev with subject “Your ScaleLLM [Tier] API Key”.
If you can’t find it:
- Check your spam folder
- Contact support at the link below
Can I regenerate my API key?
Currently, API keys cannot be regenerated. If you need a new key:
- Cancel your current subscription
- Wait for the billing period to end
- Subscribe again to receive a new key
What happens to my API key if I cancel?
When you cancel:
- Your API key remains active until the end of your billing period
- After that, your budget is set to $0 (no more API calls)
- The key itself stays in your tools but won’t work
Billing & Credits
How do credits work?

| Dev | 50 | $5/month |
| Pro | 150 | $10/month |
| Max | 400 | $20/month |
Credits = dollars of API usage. 50 credits means $50 worth of API calls.
What happens if I run out of credits?
API calls will be rejected with a 402 error. You can:
- Wait for your monthly reset (30 days from subscription start)
- Upgrade to a higher tier for more credits
Do unused credits roll over?
No, credits reset each billing period. Unused credits don’t carry over.

I have a billing issue
For billing issues (failed payments, refunds, disputes):
- Go to the Polar Customer Portal
- Click “Contact support”
